Think of buying a used DeWalt DCS551. Max 20v.. The item is listed as used... Seller has good reviews. I am a bit concerned about the drywall dust around the vent holes...?

I have a drywall cutout tool (bits) and an oscillating tool (blades). After getting the oscillating tool I never use the cutout. Oscillating tools are fantastic
I agree.

I haven’t used my RotoZip since I bought an oscillating tool.

For one thing, the oscillating tool seemingly doesn’t generate as much dust, plus it’s easier to control, so you get straighter cuts.

Oscillating tools are great for light use. But these rotary tools are another world of speed when doing a big job. All depends on use case.

Either way, drywall work ***** and should all be done by someone else
Haha, very true on hiring out I just have not eaten enough drywall dust yet it seems

The way I install drywall is to mark the center of boxes.
Throw, yeah right, the drywall up there secure with some tack screws and cut the boxes out with a cut out tool.

I wonder how an oscillating tool could do that?

No way an oscillating tool can do the job of a cut out tool. I only use my cut out tools for drywall. I have a corded rotozip that hasn't been touched since I got my cordless cut out tool.

Getting a cordless drywall gun and cordless cut out tool were welcome additions to doing drywall for me. I don't mind hanging it too much but despise mudding and sanding.

How do you cut out round boxes?

This is all absolutely true. So few round boxes I’ve used a hand saw. I couldn’t cut around the boxes after hanging the rock and finding the centers without botching everything.

no issues, that will look like that with a few cuts . added to the credibility of the seller as he didn't clean & shine it, in my opinion.
I have a corded dewalt & it just goes & goes . I did have to replace the cord as it was deteriorating ( normal for dewalt & makita) but it's been rock solid
