I have had the DCF883 3/8 impact for just a couple of months.

I was removing some Morman couplers yesterday and the motor started to smoke and send sparks flying everywhere. Has anyone had this issue?
The only reason I went ahead and bought this unit is due to already having some Dewalt 20 volt stuff. I was going to get the Milwaukee or IR impact. Now I'm hoping the warrantee is good.

Call the auth. service shop and that should not be a problem. The date of manufacture is dated on the tag on the tool. If no receipt they will go by that.

Next time buy Milwaukee for electrical tools. I have had then send replacement parts just out of customer satisfaction. I did it on my chop saw. The Quick release and clamp was not tightening up on the material. Replace with phone call and shipped free. Great company..
Just my two cents...

Well I noticed dewalt came out with a brushless 20volt model. How come they always come out with the more advanced models about the time I choose to purchase what I think is the latest.
