Acme is offering a Free battery with the purchase of select bare tools and I'm considering purchasing a Dewalt DCF899B. It has the detent pin anvil, anything to worry about compared to the one one the hog ring? DCF899HB is not one of the ones on sale with a free battery.

No, I actually prefer it, especially for swivels. It is a tapered pin and you can still wiggle the socket on and off everytime.

That's what I have. Saw a You Tube video showing how to re-shape the pin so it's not so hard to deal with. You'll love the tool.

Thanks fellas. Just pulled the trigger on it along with a few other Dewalt bare cordless tools. I'm going to end up with too many batteries so I'll probably sell a couple of them. Was originally looking at a Ingersoll Rand impact but since I own a few Dewalt tools figured it would be the best bet for me.

There are lots of good tools out there but you won't regret going with dewalt. Their tools are excellent in my experience. Only thing I really want that they don't carry is Milwaukee's cordless ratchet , and I'm still hoping they will come out with a 20v one....

Appreciate the feedback. I'm weeding out my old 18 Volt stuff for the 20 Volt tools by Dewalt. My buddy has a IR cordless impact and it's been able to break everything loose. Plans were to purchase one but for the money and a free battery Dewalt seems like the best bang for the buck in my situation.

I'm interested in 3ah and up batteries if they're reasonably priced. I have the dcf899b and it's an awesome tool. All their brushless stuff is great.

The dewalt impact is stronger than the IR anyways unless they revamped it in the last couple years.

Sunex and Grey Pneumatic make very complete, excellent quality sets. I personally use Sunex and couldn't be happier. They're right there with my Snap On impacts. Pittsburgh impacts at HF are hard to be price wise, but don't quite offer as complete sets as the other two mentioned. Tekton impacts are liked around here as well.

I agree with gdocktor, I have multiple different sets of grey pneumatic, IR, Sunex, Snap On, ect All are good, In my opinion, impacts are not something you need to spend big $ on. My .02, my Snap on sockets aren't better than my other ones, they just cost a lot more.

Thanks, I'll look into all these sockets and find which would be best for myself. They will not be used daily. More of just when needed. Don't want to spend too much but also don't want to go the cheap route and have to buy again.
