Dewalt DCK280C2 20 Volt Max

Guys, I'm looking at this kit. Was wanting some feedback. I have gift cards I need to burn. I have a lot of the bigger 18 volt Nicad tools. Wanting something small. And power wise I have not found anything else that matches the Dewalt power to size. So if there is something else out there. Let me know. Thanks

cms_ Looks like your new so ill be kind. Use the search feature in the upper black bar. Search things like "best cordless" or "dewalt 20v". You will find a wealth of discussion on these exact questions and models. Its a tool forum, and these are very popular tools.

That being said you will also get "xxxxx brand has worked for me for years". meh, means that havent tried everything.

My suggestion, go to HD or wherever you have you gift cards and actually grab the tools you are looking at. Make sure the battery is in it.

Get what feels best and what features you think are important. Dewalt, Makita, Milwaukee, Hitachi, and Ridgid all make very comprable kits.

The drill is nice, but I don't like using single speed impact drivers anymore if I can help it. The ones with multiple speed settings are better to use on smaller fasteners, but they cost more too.

Regarding power, Milwaukee M18 Fuel blows these tools out of the water, but the combo costs 25% more.

Can't agree with this. My coworker has the m18 and it can't even compare to my nano 18 dewalt. Can't see it taking out the 20v when it can't take my 18v out.

I bought a M18 kit early last year and it was ok. I bought a 20v dewalt kit back in january and I like it better than the M18 kit. More powerr and the batteries last longer.

Quite a bit more. I'd say the Fuel is about on par with the Dewalt premium/heavy duty, but weighs less. The Dewalt premium is larger and heavier, but also has the 3rd gearbox setting that some favor.

Oops. You're right, outside of NA, not just USA. I know Canada has the same branding, just checked and Mexico sees "20V Max" branding as well.

That all said, while they're not available just yet, Dewalt's 20V drills and drivers are soon hitting the market. http://toolguyd.com/dewalt-brushless-drill-dcd790d2/ Vs. the brushed model in the linked kit, there's only a small boost in power, but there's going to be a big boost in runtime. Partly because of the brushless motor, partly because the kit comes with the new 2.0Ah batteries.
