Here's how I modified my DeWalt DCV580H 20V cordless vacuum:
First I taper down a dowel so the wide mouth nozzle attachment fit snugly on it....

Then make a cut mark on it about an inch below....

Take it to the tablesaw....

Mark the center to drill a screw hole....

And mount it to a scrap piece of plywood....

Then mount the attachment and closely slice off the ribs on both outside edges....

Then clean up the edges and round the sharp corners....

I picked up the vac the other day and slightly bumped the vac into my leg and the wand when flying so that's no bueno
