I've been considering the purchase of a portable shop vacuum for quite some time now...I just pulled the trigger on this DeWalt DCV581H (Happy Birthday to me!):

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DD1UQ3Y/?tag=atomicindus08-20

It is compatible with my existing assortment of DeWalt batteries & chargers (I have both the 18V and 20V), and the corded option is an additional benefit.

Plus: It's yellow! :rocker:

I'll post a separate review after I have it for a few days.

Sometimes I think having a central vac system in the garage would be a good way to go. I have a shop vac that I bought quite some time back and it works well. But I think to have a central vac system would be pretty slick. Just take the hose and plug it in where you need it.

I have a central vacuum setup in my house. The canister is in the garage, and there’s an inlet on the side. Before typing this out, I’ve never actually remembered about it when I needed to vacuum something up.

Wow, you have a central vac unit with an opening in the garage and haven't used it? I would think that would be something you would use a lot.

I must be just the opposite, in my garage I use a shop vac all the time. But I do woodworking and I get sawdust on the floor quite a bit. I sweep the floor with the push broom and then run the shop vacuum cleaner to get the places I missed, or are hard to get to.

We have 2 of the dewalt units at my grocery store that the produce department uses to vacuum up onion peels and misc produce debris from our display cases. Neither of them work now. They maybe lasted 2 years or so with daily use.
