It's hard for me to imagine how to control cuts with such a long extension.
It gives you more leverage to control it.
It's also only a 3" disc, rather than a 5" for a full sizer grinder.

Yes go back a few comments, it's at Home Depot comes with a free battery starter set, if you return the batteries, they pro-rate the grinder at $150is there any kind of deal going on with this grinder, or is this just about it? I'd like to buy one if it's on sale.

That one is tempting. I think most angle grinders are 4", but lots of them have the guards removed to run bigger discs.
