Dewalt offers 2 tips, Pilot point & speed tip. Are the pilot point able to be resharpened?

they all are, however the pilot point are much more difficult to sharpen. also i've never seen a need for a pilot point, ever

I don't think you can resharpen the pilot points. They are very complex, it looks like there is a smaller diameter drill centered within the larger bit. hard to explain but a picture is worth a thousand words. A simple jig like the drill doctor can not sharpen them. You would need to sharpen the center pilot point and also the main cutting edge of the larger bit.

The bigger ones could be touched up.
The small ones I would grind the pilot off and sharpen like a standard drill.

I would just buy some Chicago-Latrobe or Norseman and move on with my life.

I find I usually keep a 1/8" and a 1/4" with the 1/4" quick shank on them. I'm not usually nice to them, and the fact that they fit an impact quickly is nice....especially while up on a ladder or lift.

Metal work they are lacking far behind similar priced competitors and way softer. But for rough, and I mean rough, wood work they are quicker to drill holes. There isnt a huge need for a rough work wood bit in small sizes like these IMO. I had some but threw them, there are better bits for the price, including other Dewalt bits.

Sharpening wise you can sharped the bump on a drill doctor but have to free hand the edges making any metal drilling obsolete after sharpening them due to the difficult angles you have to do. But again for rough drilling they still would work.

Bottom line they are a home owner marketing hype that you should stay away from if you drill more then 6 holes a year.
