Found this saw for sale for $150, may be able to get it for a bit less. It's not made anymore and I can't find a mfg. date on it. It's missing the blade guard. Do y'all think it's worth it?

Does it have the rack n pinion gearing for the fence? Does it cycle smoothly?

If yes to both, then yeah its a pretty solid saw. If no, you can do better.

It does come with the stand. I have not seen it in person yet, but was told it does have the rack-n-pinion fence.

The main thing that concerns me is the lack of a blade guard, can't seem to find one online. I also noticed some of the earlier models have been recalled.

I love mine but the blade guard/splitter was the first thing to go. I cut large, small, sheet goods, even brass (with the appropriate non ferrous blade). It has never disappointed me. Go for it.
