Dewalt DW745 or DWE7480?

I was looking to buy one of these.

I could not find a 745 because the 7480 was replacing it or something.

Then seems like the COVID hit they discontinued both and now only have 8” saws and the 7491 with the stand and $600 cost.

I very specifically don’t need the cart.

Anyone have a line on NOS 745’s or 7480’s at reasonable prices?

OK, so is the one at home depot. You said 8" so when these said 8 1/4" I assumed it was not the ones you did not like. Sorry.

That’s the 7491 a larger more expensive saw.

Snagged a lightly used DWE7480 on Craigslist at a good price.

Seems there was a change to some OSHA rules regarding blade diameter vs table size making the Dewalt 745 and 7480 out of compliance.

There seems to be a shortage of the 10" Dewalts. I got lucky when they had crazy sales on them right when covid hit, $199 shipped.

Definitely a great saw, standard issue on jobsites for any pro. Worth looking and waiting for. Other honorable mention - SawStop jobsite series.

745 is less powerfull than the 7480, 7480 motor is 5400 rpm while 745 is 3400 something

Cant help with either of those. But I do have the 7485. Awesome saw for the money. The 8" is awesome for portability next to the 10" variant. Miter gauge is trash though, likely the same for the 10" variant, I guess.
