I got this Dewalt DW887 1.5" die grinder about 5 years ago, other than plugging it in to test it hasn't been used, stored in a nice dark climate controlled closet the whole time. I forgot I had it!

Now the question, should I keep it? It has a paddle switch with a lock-on button. 3.8 amps 25,000 rpm. Hecho en Mexico. 1/4 collet, does not come with a 1/8 reducer collet like new models.

I think once I get my shop this will be a useful tool. I've used a similar machine made by Makita to polish parts on a lathe with great success using felt bobs and diamond paste.

The whole lost for 5 years thing worries me though, I am scared of becoming a hoarder. If I don't need it, why not sell?

You can't get rid of tools, unless you use the money to buy more tools. I wouldn't sell it, once you get you shop up and going it can be a useful tool and you won't get what you paid for it. You'll always have tools that don't get used often but when you need them you'll be glad you have it.

Those are very handy for Carbide Burrs if you are a welder. I own a makita one that I think has a bent inner shaft. How much did you originally pay for it? I may be interested in it if you want to part with it.
