Dewalt Impact Anvil

Hi everyone,
I had a question, I have the Chinese Made 334 piece craftman mechanic tool set; I tired using the sockets on an 3/8 impact wrench with a friction ring but some sockets fit snug others don't. Is due to the sockets being circle punched vs sqaure?
Has anyone else had this issue ?
Any solutions?

when using chrome sockets on a friction ring anvil, the ring gets stuck on the detents. impact sockets are smooth inside

The chrome sockets I have don’t have a good detents just a tiny piece of metal, the still hold on a ratchet. The rest of the inner socket is smooth

Can I use a thicker friction ring ?
