Just a ??? comparing 2 similar Dewalt impact drivers.
Models DC825KA @ DC820KA
Both are similar, only difference is the 825 has 1/4" hex shank quick release in and the 820 has 1/2 in square drive.
My ??? Is there some sort of adapter than can be snapped on the Model 820
(1/2 square) so it can be used with different drill bits??? Thus making it similar to the 825 (1/4" hex shank quick release in)Thank you

the 820 uses 1/2" drive sockets I don't know of any adapter other than running a 1/2f to 3/8m socket adapter and then a 1/4" 3/8 drive socket.

I know you can buy 1/4" shank adapters for 1/4 3/8 1/2 drive sockets

You are comparing an Impact Wrench to an Impact Driver. An Impact wrench is used for nuts and bolts (think lug nuts). An Impact Driver is used for driving screws (think drywall or deck screws). These are two totally different tools intended for different uses. Now to answer your question, yes you could use regular socket adaptors to reduce the drive size down to 3/8 and use a 3/8 drive x 1/4" socket to put driver bits in it to drive screws. But I don't think you would be happy with the results.
