DeWalt sander to Shop Vac connection

I used to have a Ridgid sander that connected directly to this 1-1/4" hose

I recently got a DeWalt sander and, of course, it doesn't fit the hose

It looks like DeWalt makes a connector for the sander but it goes directly on the end of a 1-1/4" hose (I'd have to cut the end off, which means I couldn't use it to connect to my other tools)

So maybe I need to buy a DeWalt hose with the quick connect fitting. Or buy another hose and cut the end off. Right now I'm just duct tapping the hose on.

Has anyone switched over to the DeWalt connectors and, if so, what parts did you use?

It would be nice if the DeWalt website gave the dimensions for the connectors and all the adapters. If anyone has seen such an explaination please share.

I have done this before, going to go from memory since I'm not at home.

I think the connection fits the ridgid shop vac 1 7/8 in hose. Alternatively, I have purchased in the past, a stepped fitting that goes from the 2 1/2 in shop vac hose to various smaller sizes, you just cut where you need to. I think i got it at woodcraft.

Moat hose ends, on decent hoses, screw on and off. I have a nice 1.25" hose that i thread on that exact dewalt connector you linked when i need to use the sander. I then screw on a different one for my circular saw

But the fitting on the end of that Bosch is amazing, nice flexible rubber, fits over smaller 1.25" tool ducts, and inside larger ones, works for 90% of the tools I own.
