Were they the 20 volt? I must have missed this.I would not think the cordless tools had enough power. I watched the complete race and did not see this.

While I haven't uses it, the new DeWalt 1/2" impact is suppose to be the current king at 700 ft lbs and 1200 bust away. With how long the 4 amp batteries last, the 5 amp ones in the new impact have to have pretty good life. One guy at work has one and says it will take semi lug nuts off.

They've been using cordless tools for years. They don't use them on lug nuts during a pit stops obviously but a lot of the saws and impacts in the garage are battery.

I bought a DCF899 brand new off CL for $200 a few months ago. Picked up a 4ah battery on eBay for $34 and already had charger. I loooove it. I've only used it a dozen times as its been cold and I am not a mechanic by trade, but it hasn't let me down yet. I have a Snap On MG725 air impact and I'd say the Dewalt is more powerful. They have close to the same specs Dewalt 1200 break away 700 working and MG725 1190 break away and 810 working, but the electric feels like it has more torque to it initially. It has a nice snappy feel to it right away. I love the yellow too. I hate getting it dirty.

They were tearng down the right front in the pits after he went into the wall. These guys could use any brand tool they want, and i would think they would use the best, and they had dewalt tools going. Very cool

Not saying Dewalt isn't good, but they sponsor Matt Kenseth so they kind of have to use them.

These nascar teams use the best of the best. They're multi million dollar race teams that can afford which ever tools they'd like. With that said, I do remember hearing Dale Jr could get in trouble if he was seen drinking any other beer then Budweiser when they sponsored him. Whether or not that was true I don't know, but maybe it's the same with Dewalt. Regardless, they clearly get the job done for them.
