Dewalt makes micrometer torque wrenches (or rebrands them). I noticed them on sale at a local store. The DWMT75462 is $90.00 on sale, Canadian. I'm looking for a decent 1/2" torque wrench just for wheel changes and other random suspension work, but I'm not willing to invest in a Snap On or equivalent right now.

Are they overpriced for the quality? Does anyone have experience with them?

Here's the link to Dewalt's site.

I actually bought this one today...LINK...before I noticed the Dewalt torque wrenches.

Princess Auto is the Canadian equivalent to Harbor Freight.

IIRC, those ones are Made in Taiwan. They can't be that bad. If you have to exchange it, you can get away with handing it back and buying something else that's of use to you in store within 1 year. On a side note, if you are shopping at Canadian Tire it's tempting to try out the Maximum electronic torque Wrenches that just came out.

Re-branded Eclatorq. Taiwan.

No idea on the Dewalt or the one you bought. Set it up with some weights in a vise and see how accurate it is and the range you're using it.

My 1/2" is a USA made Husky and I'm very happy with it. My 3/8" is a CDI and I love that one too. If I hadn't found a USA Husky I'd have bought 1/2" CDI.

I would rather buy a Tekton one off Amazon for a lot less $. At least half the Dewalts price is for the name.

That Precision Instruments PREC3FR250F looks nice. By the time I get it shipped to Canada, it would be well over $200CDN. Buy once, cry once. I may take back the $69 wrench I bought from Princess Auto and budget for the PI wrench in the future.

What are you planning to torque? If it's just wheel bolts etc.. then you'll be fine with a wrench around the £30 range.

If non critical application- go Tekton or HF, but that Taiwan digi looks interesting...

But the buy once cry once def applies to that PI split beam, no need to unload each time, comes with a case, so basically a lifetime tool.
