I'm a Milwaukee cordless guy but I love the Tough System and am excited about the new radio. I love the idea that I can roll up with music, tools, and whatever.

Does anyone know when this will go on sale?

I have had ISSUES with Milwaukee, DeWalt, and Bosh shop radios. They usually last about 2-6 months before they go out, nothing but static. I would bring them back to Home Depot and exchange it for another one, that part went well. I finally called all 3 companies and talked to their tech service person and all 3 companies told me the same thing. They are not built out of hardened electronics, which means that if you do any welding near the radio, 20 feet, the pulse when ever you strike an arc will burn out the electronics. I was told to buy a car radio, set it up in a box, get a 120VAC to 12VDC transformer, then wire up speakers. I bought a car radio, set it, wired my shop with speakers and this system has been working without issues for 18 months.

I don't know anything about the DeWalt Tough System player, but it is a good read on their web site. Is it built out of hardened electronics, doubt it. If you will never be around anyone welding, then should be OK

I apologize. I have corrected this oversight.

By the way, BusyBee.com (Canadian retailer) has this tool available right now.

http://www.busybeetools.com/products/dewalt-tuff-system-music-player.html

It's okay, a lot of people do it but it's always a little frustrating as my bandwidth bill gets higher and higher.

If you copy the URL, you can attach it to a thread via the attach button, that way it downloads it to the forum. Or if you must hotlink, a courtesy link goes a long way to make up for it.

Anyway, it's hard to imagine that BusyBee has these in stock. The last I checked, they weren't shipping yet. What a lot of retailers do is list tools ahead of time as early as possible, and they basically sell preorders.

I'd check with them to make sure it's in stock.

You're welcome! There are a bunch of other new tools, and I tried to keep them together in logical categories.
