Surprised no one is talking about the new Dewalt Stack ToughSystem DXL. From my research it is good, it is a nice size and compatible with both tSTAK and tough/2.0
Not a mobile due to size, but I think it's not targeted at the portable crowd. Similar to what Tekton is doing but without the ease of removable drawers. The best part is how you can stack your boxes, for example, you can stack the smaller drawer boxes sideways and have multiple drawer locations on 3 sides of the box.

That is very slick- looks like they put a lot of thought into it. And yes, now everyone here will say it has no use to them, and they're right- because the target market isn't the home mechanic DIYer, but someone like a traveling repair technician that does stuff like go to a factory and fix a robot, specialized automation, machining center.... It's a lot easier to lift 3-4 of these out of the back of a van and pile them on the dolly than it is to unload something like a HF service cart.

True, I like it as a DIY. I always wanted a toolbox under 30" that could be set up in any layout, this setup def fits that bill. I also already own a few Tstak drawers so it would be cheaper than a custom box.

I don’t see any TSTAK boxes in that pic. Any info on the cross compatibility?i know they have an adapter plate you can use to mix them together.

That’s a nice system for an urban setting where you have to haul it all in from down the block. Elevator techs, plant mechanics, and others who haul tools onto job sites from a small van will no doubt be impressed. The modularity is impressive, not for me but can see applications for this system.

I'm really intrigued by the wide and deep size and modular nature. They are expensive and heavy though. Are there any other alternatives out there of this size? Maybe cheaper and not as overbuilt? I really like the Systainer as it is available in some larger sizes however they are all about 10 inches deep, while the DXL is about 18-19 inches deep (internal).

I started a similar thread, didn't seem to appeal to the GJ crowd. It's pricey and not really portable as compared to the tough series. As a GC my guys work out of gang boxes with carts. I wouldn't trust those carts full of tools on a job site. I see HD starting to discount then now, when they're 50% off I may get one.

Will the arms stand up in a crash? Or without a headache rack will you be killed by a SBD product?
I do have the factory bulkhead, not shown that I usually have installed. It only takes a few minutes to remove or install but sometimes you need a little extra room.

The system is really good but very specialized unfortunately. No sure who is buying it, but it's getting deep discounts. I will also get one of it goes 50% off, at full price I can justify it.
