I noticed HD replaced the line of Irwin Quick Grip clamps with DeWalt's line of trigger clamps similar to Irwins's. I guess there's no copyright or patent infringement since Stanley Black & Decker owns both companies now. Are these any good?

I have a few variations of the Irwins, no issues or problems with them.

Can't speak for the Dewalt.

Patent is long gone I believe, thats why you see so many variations of them.

Seems Dewalt (and Milwaukee too) are pushing hard into other segments these days, mostly hand tools but also vacuums, electronics, etc...

I would buy whichever one is offered cheaper, both look functionally the same and are great all purpose clamps.
