Dewalt Warranty?

Anybody have experience with Dewalt's warranty process?
I have a 2yr old 20v Max cordless drill that has seen moderate use. Lately it will either slow down to a crawl or shut off when put under load.

I had a DeWalt cordless drill start grinding in the gearbox the very first time I used it. I have a DeWalt store a few miles from my place. Took it in with the receipt, and had it back in a few days, fine ever since.

I HAD on of their toolboxes.. I called for warranty on one of the locks and a drawer and they told me I was sol that it was up to home depot to take it back bc they didn't have parts. Even though website says it had a 3 year warranty, hd told me I was sol past 90 days so I rushed it back!!

What type of load - Using a hole saw or running screws?

Preforming a repetitive task and noticed the decline in performance?

What is the state of charge of the battery?

Same results with a different battery?

5. IF DRILL STALLS, it is usually because it is being overloaded or improperly used. RELEASE TRIGGER IMMEDIATELY, remove drill bit from work, and determine cause of stalling. DO NOT DEPRESS TRIGGER ON AND OFF IN AN ATTEMPT TO START A STALLED DRILL — THIS CAN DAMAGE THE DRILL.

It does it running screws, using a 1/4" drill bit, and sometimes just pulling the trigger it will work correctly, then let off and pull the trigger again and it is very slow.
I have sent them an email, just never have used their warranty and didn't know the process or how well they usually handled these things.

Forgot to mention it does it regardless of charge level of the battery. Have experienced it with a used battery, and a fully charged battery, as well as different batteries.

Contacted the closest Dewalt service center today as instructed via their email. They stated it was more than likely the switch, would be considered normal wear and tear and is not covered under warranty.
To be honest, I'm a bit disappointed.

Don't bother with specifics. If its under warranty just say its malfunctioning during use and leave it at that then either ship it off or drop it off acting with the assumption that it will be fixed to working again on DeWalts dime. My local tool repair doesn't really care as long as the warranty isn't up even if its used commercially/professionally.

I had a Bosch drill driver doing the same thing, they replaced the entire motor assembly.

Dewalt should warranty it, IMO.
