This past december I bought one of the 52" tool chest from home depot. I haven't even really got a chance to really use it and already 2 of the drawers is messed up (warped causing tracks to bind)! I called dewalt and after 2 weeks of them not returning calls or emails I finally got someone who informed me that my only option was to take it back to home depot and ask for a refund!! What the point of paying for name brand if they are not going to stand behind it!! Sorry for the rant but now I have to empty my chest load it in my truck and hope home depot will replace it just bc dewalt won't warranty it directly!

When i first saw Dewalt/Milwaukee hand tools & boxes i just rolled my eyes. But the Dewalt power tools are awesome. Just my 2 cents.

Thats why so many here keep saying the HF stuff is the best deal. Seems everything else besides the tool truck stuff is inferior in some way.

I used to love thier power toold but sense the B&D bought them they have been so so to me! The Milwaukee boxes are really well built but yes i could have send the damaged drawers in and had new ones shipped so now I'm looking at loading it up and probably taking home a husky box sense the dewalt is no longer offer around me

I guess I don't think of dewalt as a brand name toolbox. Maybe a cordless drill, although these days that is questionable also.

Just go back to the store and exchange it. DeWalt is not a big toolbox company and they may not even keep a stock of extra slides to send out for warranty work.

You must have had a pretty rough 56 years since black and decker bought dewalt.

I stand corrected for some reason I thought B&D had bought Dewalt when the new 20v line come out

If you have a problem with the 20v stuff, they released an adapter a while back that lets you used the 20v batteries with the old 18v tools.

I highly doubt DeWalt has anything to do with these toolboxes other then collect a royalty check from who ever makes them.

What would you rather they do? Other than it took forever for them to get back to you. I would be happy with returning it. I'd just ask for a refund and buy another brand

I really don't care for the 20v line just bc the price of batteries, I personally like the older 18v line and have quite a few of their tools. I agree it just a licensing agreement and I would rather they send me the parts rather than having to load up and return the whole toolbox! The whole reason I don't want to return it is bc no home depots around me have any in stock so I will be forced to get a refund or buy a different brand.

I had pretty awful warranty experience from them as well. Long story but the most infuriating thing was getting a replacement drill with a date code 2 years previous to what I'd sent in, essentially stealing my warranty.

Too bad about your experience with the Dewalt box but if you're within the 90 day return policy better step on it:
"unfortunately, this item appears to have been discontinued and is no longer in stock or available to be purchased on Homedepot.com. The item will remain briefly on the website for customer reference, and the description will be updated with “Discontinued” if it has not been already. We do not offer replacement parts for this item. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot! "

On the other hand maybe DIY tool boxes might not be the best choice for you and keep in mind Husky has a 3yr warranty while the HF 90 day warranty plus questionable stocked replacement parts is not too comforting either.

That's the **** part, my box come with paperwork that said it had a 3 year warranty but they don't want to cover it! I plan on looking at how long I have to return it but I think it is out of the 90 days already!
