diagram for permit

Might sound to be a silly request but I am looking for some guidance on putting together a simple diagram for the purposes of getting a county permit for electrical. just 110v outlets, lights, switches and a single 220v outlet.

According to those I have spoken to locally, nothing formal or fancy is needed but I honestly don't know where to start or what is 'informal', lol! Been staring at a blank piece of paper for days now. I know what goes where but not how to represent it.

Things here (Jefferson County, WV) are pretty relaxed and for the workshop they just need a simple diagram. So, can anyone point me at a sample? I have spent the last 20 mins searching on Google and nothing...most odd!

They want a wire diagram just for that. Where I live all you have to do is to put on the application "Wiring workshop with 2 - 20amp outlet circuits, 1 - 15 amp lighting circuit, and one 240V circuit for welder". Give'em their $40 and go.

They need outlets, switches, lights etc.

I used Google Image search with with the phrase "Garage Floor Plan Wiring". It's easier to look at the pictures than wade through a bunch of web pages.

Nice tip pattenp, I'll have remember that. I did a quick text search with a few different terms and came up with mostly garbage. What you found is perfect.
