Is it feasible to do 650 sq ft. with an existing coating down with the 4.5 inch version of the diamabrush prep tool that attaches to a hand grinder? How long would it take to do this way? Will it last the entire job? Economically it makes sense but will i be breaking my back? If it only takes a day its probably well worth it....

I think that you would regret taking on that job with such a small tool....this is probably one of those "if you have to ask" kinda things.

That is going to be a punishing job, borderline torture. The tool may last but you won't .

Yes it's feasible and yes you will be breaking your a**, but in my younger days I would do it without thinking cause there wasn't the money to do it any other way. Here's a video of one of the members grinding their floor with a Bosch 1773ak hand grinder

I'm still on the fence on buying the Dust Deputy or setting up a two shop vacs (first one with water in bottom, second with filter)

The deputy is the better bet. The water will get turned to slurry fast and then the dust will be flying into the second vac heavier and will gum it up fast.

The deputy would be good for other projects later or you can easily sell on craigslist/ebay.

My guess is that with a 7" diamabrush on a 9" grinder you will complete the job in 6hrs. If you were using a normal diamond wheel for paint removal I would triple the above time.

So i have a 1200 sq ft garage i am trying to prep. It seems like it is unsealed, but had been smoothed out. There was some oil and other fluid stains. After trying phosphoric acid, i did noy get a gritty enough surface. Is this a good application for the 100 grit Diamabrush Concrete Prep head? I was thinking the big 12" on a rented buffermachine with water. Then rinse all the slurry out of the garage. Seems this would give me the best prepared surface,.... any thoughts?
