Thanks - thought I saw something like this. Unfortunately the 7 1/4" won't work. Most 7 1/4" circular saw blades have the knock out to make it a diamond hole, here is a dewalt from lowes, http://www.lowes.com/pd_355464-70-D...278&Ntt=saw+blade&pl=1¤tURL=&facetInfo=
It came with 5 blades in their original packages ("Simonds"? and Skil). I've already resharpened a couple, but these aren't carbide tipped and won't last long. This little monster ("Skil 67A Portable Saw") will eat these old-timers up in short measure, and while I'm not at all shy about modifications, the beefy case/guard just won't allow for any tweaking.5 1/2? Can you have the old one resharpened? If you can fit a 7 1/4 that would be the way to go.
Thanks for the reply. I'm obviously new/confused about this. The blade packs say:I missed the whole 5 1/2 part!
I see lots of 6 1/2" blades with knockouts but not seeing any 5 1/2".
Thanks for the input. Think I confused you with another writer (see previous reply re: 5 3/8 De Walt). I have surfed around the web but have comu up empty so far. Guy from toolstoday scanned Amana blades (pretty prolific catalog) and said they had nothing to fit. I've come to love this thing and will get silly enough to consider cutting the holes if I can't find any. Thanks again. The heat is making my mind a little hazy, but I seem to recall walking into a lowes this week and I thought I saw some 5 1/2 blades; My Dewalt takes 5 3/8 blades. To get the Diamond shape most blades have that knockout piece like someone stated above.
I am sure somewhere on the net a company still makes them.
