I was hoping I would be the first to post a doubleheader Diamond adjustable wrench.
Oh well, here are a few of mine.
The double header and the four inch are Diamond calk and horseshoe branded. The Handy pliers actually work pretty good. The narrow and flat jaws come in handy. The big slip joints are tough buggers.

I'm sure I have more hidden away. My first real toolbox came with a 10" Black Diamond adjustable wrench. Still have it somewhere, even after 46 years.

Forgot about this, just grabbed some pics. Has a few more dings than I was imagining, but not bad for about 90-100 years old.
The first generation 18" is probably my favorite Diamond adjustable.

The unpainted one is frozen and has a destroyed pin, will be a tough repair.
Red one is the newer find, smooth as butter and will be an easy refurb.

At one point I'd started cataloging the "A###" casing mark that appear on some of these. I recall conclusions being,
- earlier = more likely to be marked, but possibly inconsistent across sizes
- first digit after A corresponds to size. 7=18", 6=15", 5=12", 4=10", 3=8", 2=6, 1=4". This earlist series did not yet include 24" afaik.
- second two digits = ??? my best guess was a mold revision, lower numbers maybe seemed earlier

Curious if anyone knows more.
Red one has the mark, other one doesn't.

I'd like to find one of those 18" ones. I have a of Crescent brand, but I do feel better with a Diamond brand. Good catch on the #codes.

Here is a somewhat unusual chrome plated 8“ Diamalloy adjustable with the missing horseshoe and broached hanging hole that I found yesterday. It seems likely that it is early WW2 before the metal restrictions went into effect.

Nice farmers plier in that group, Moldy! (y)
The one is a Diamond brand, the other I bought new a couple of years ago at a farm cooperative.

Now, if only Vise grips would make a version of a locking pliers with the adjustable wrench on the end I'd buy one.

That would be a good multiple use tool. Maybe add a longitudinal groove in the jaws to hold 1/4 hex bits too.

I don’t have many pictures of double end wrenches because I resell then as soon as I find them. I think the really odd ones are the tools with pliers on one end and an adjustable wrench on the other.

So if I read it right on one of these threads, the double ended adjustable wrenches were quite popular at one time?

Certainly not super rare since they come up every now and then.

Not just salesmen samples if I understand correctly.

What are they most useful for, and why did they fall off the manufacturing map?

Mine. Not sure if the Proto (with the Diamond) pliers are Diamond Horseshoe or not, thoughts?

I’m not sure who made the Williams adjustable. I found a 15” auto wrench like the one you posted upthread recently. I had to clean it up in stages due to size but it came out like new, eventually.

I found these Diamond groove-joint pliers at an estate sale yesterday and did a little clean up on them. I like the Diamond versions just as well as the nut and bolt Channellocks.

It’s been a while since I found one of these desirable green plastic handle adjustable wrenches. I’ve sold off most of the previous ones I’ve found but since I quit selling on eBay due to having to pay income taxes on sales, I’ll probably just hang on to this one.

...this unusual crate opener tool.
I picked one up this morning at the flea, Stuart. I thought for sure it was going to be a BHM "Box Terrier", because 9 out of 10 I see out here on the beast coast are, so I was pleasantly surprised to see the Diamond logo. I am assuming the "Junior" version is smaller and that the "Senior" doesn't refer to the experience level of the stevedore intended to wield it! Although, the term fits my age. :)

Note the different marking. I'm thinking yours, with the forged-in branding, is probably older.

Got this diamond screwdriver for a buck, it was in pretty tough shape, but it cleaned up good enough to be a user. It has a very striking resemblance to S-K handles.

Marshall Wells 6" adjustable wrench. Branded "Northern King." After doing some research, I found that Marshall Wells Hardware Co. was located in Duluth, Minn. and used that brand name on some products.

The broached hang hole originally lead me to believe this may have been made by Danielson, but further research revealed that other features precluded that, and that the supplier was most likely Diamond, who was located nearby.

I'm a J.P. Danielson fan, but if I see a Diamond without the horseshoe logo - indicating WWII production, I will pick it up. Found this 10-incher yesterday. When I put it away, it occurred to me that I had a collection going without really trying. Two alloy steels and two carbon steels. A 6-incher will break the tie.
