I bought this 10/12 Diamond Calk double ended wrench on CL a couple days ago for $25. I only see the 4/6 or 6/8 on ebay and usually for quite a bit of money so I was very happy to pick this up.

Nice.!
I think the Crescent *versions go for more money because of collector demand.
A less expensive alternative is the Merit brand made by Diamond for Sears. I think it was an economy line before the Craftsman era. The line included double ended adjustables.

*Crescent versions in general. I don't know wether or not they made a 10/12 double .

Wow that's really cool. I have never seen a double ended adjustable before.

funny thing because the tool companies made their fair share of them back in the day but for some reason collectors grabbed them up and they never let them go. OP for $25.00 you got a great deal, I paid $75.00 dollars to an older gentleman that had a good clue what he had.

I have double-ended Crescent wrench that I keep in my tool bag. It's about 12" long and is a hefty sucker. I believe it belonged to my great-grandfather but I don't know much about it.

What is the practical use of a double ended crescent? I carry a 10" in my bag, but can't imagine have a use for a double ended one. If I need a 12", I swap the 10" out. Were these made as a novelty item at the time?

I have a whole drawer full of Diamond Calk wrenches and pliers. I love them. I actually reach for them more often than my newer made stuff.
