Diamond plate wall covering

About to paint the new drywall in my garage. Did you ever see that real thin alluminum diamond plate? I would like to do a few feet up from the bottom in it. Where is the best place to buy? Anyone done this? I have searched the web and there is nothing local. Need some advice.

If I do not do diamond plate I am going to do a two tone wall. White top, light gray bottom with a stripe. Not sure what color the stripe will be. I am going to install an Atlas lift and I am putting my 65 Falcon in it, so I was thinking maybe Ford blue. Or maybe try and match the color of my Falcon. Not sure. Shiney diamond plate will sure look good though.

That diamond is definitely nice but it's a bit pricey. Check with you local steel supplier, they can probably order it. The last time I bought some was about 10 years ago and it was around $140 for a 4'x10'.

Nice Falcon! What's the numbers in that little fender badge? I think I've only seen those badges for 390, 406 and 427 motors?

The previous owner put the 427 badges on it. It has a 351 Windsor. I am changing the emblems soon

You can buy vinyl that looks like diamond plate. I ordered a sample pack from an ebay vendor and some of it looks pretty cool... and WAY cheaper.

I've been putting 4x8 sheets around my space as wainscot, or whatever. Getting it a metal supply yard that gets it as seconds, thin gauge diamond bright. Coca Cola red walls from there up. Been paying $97 to $100 a sheet so far and polishing out a few dull spots that qualify it as "seconds".

I chose this over the corrugated tin material with the lines running vertical, again as wainscot. It is in several bars and restaurants in the area and I still like it.

I belong to a private club that got some shiny finish thin panels that look like antique ceiling tiles. Used them to wrap the bar area and it is holding up pretty good so far.

I put some around my workbench, basically used up a 4x8 sheet and cost me $100.

Search the yellowpages for a fab shop or metal supplier.

I did this in my new work shop. I bought 120 x 48 panels of .032 bright diamond plate at $80.00 a sheet. I used regular FRP panel adhesive and it workedout great. I would say it at least triples the strenght of the wall and cleans up really easy. I found some H and J channels at Outwater Plastics in satin alum for trim. If I knew how to attach a photo I would!

I was looking at some ceiling panels at Menards last week. In the flier, they listed 4x8 sheets of diamond plate were available by special order. I asked the guy to look it up and he said it was $148.00 a sheet.

There are some Formica and Wilson Art brand plastic laminates that look like Diamond Plate. I think that's what Firehouse Subs has on their cabinets. They also have some other colors like brushed bronze etc. You can do quite a bit with them as they run $2 to $4 a square foot the last time I priced some.

I did a blue stripe of color matched Atlas blue. Looks cool and ties everything in.

Went to Carlisle Pa car show today and scored 5- 4X8 sheets of polished aluminum diamond plate for $300. The guy had tons of it. Im gonna cut them in half. Pretty thick stuff too.

I have used light weight diamond plate on corners, pillars and high wear contact areas. The guys at the sheet metal shop shear and bend it for me to my specs...I pay 'em cash which goes into their Xmas fund. I use the light weight stuff (around .040) ? which is very easy to drill and mount if that's the route you are going. My wife commented that it looks nice, so I'm good to continue with the Boss's approval...LOL.

Started getting it put up. Also think I should not have put up so many lights It will blind you in there, even though I have the back 2 on a seperate switch
