Use the concrete prep tool. Yes, you can wet the floor while grinding to eliminate the dust. Just don't let the we slurry dry out on the floor or it will require some scrubbing to remove.

If you grind wet it's a mess, also you have to get everything cleaned up before it has a chance to dry. If you do it wet, I would do a small area and then clean it well before going to the next section. If you do it dry it makes a bigger mess but it's all concrete dust and can be vacuumed up.

When I did mine, I rigged up an Dust Deputy setup http://www.oneida-air.com/category.asp?Id={CC6B6F2A-E3D7-4F18-A53C-B5C357DFE131} to my shop vac for cleaning the floor. After getting up as much as possible, with that setup, I then pressure washed it 3 times, before I couldn't get anything on my hand, when I rubbed it across the floor.

The Dust Deputy is great. However, most THD do not have the Clarke units with the dust-shroud. Therefore, you will need to broom and vac or go wet.

Make sure you have a dust mask on if you go dry.

My garage had carpet with glue. My plan is to go to bare concrete. Would the coating removal diamabrush be good enough or do I then use the concrete prep tool. If I were staining the concrete, would the answer be different ?

The stripping tool works better if you are removing old glue and mastic from the concrete. It will have more of a tendency to leave swirl marks that usually are not noticeable, but can be highlighted by stain however.

Agreed. Mastic Removal Tool. It actually has the same 25 grit teeth as the prep tool but it keeps a nice gap between teeth to help stop the material being removed from heating up. The gap promotes removal with less friction.

Once melting occurs it is difficult to remove.
