I had a 1960s-era Craftsman 3/8" electric drill I picked up at a garage sale not long ago. Nice unit, but I wanted to do a teardown and clean up any crud inside, as well as give it a snazzy paint job. I made a video of the restoration, hope you enjoy it:

Very cool, I did similar with an old John Oster. It was at some point practically dripping gunk and surged noticably when running. Opened it up and cleaned up the vast majority of the crud. Inside the gear box all the grease had been flung from the gears so I just redistributed it and reassembled. I didn't go so far as to paint, just strapped a key to the cord and it runs beautifully now albeit a bit slower but no more surging. That is a cool little walkthrough video.
