Yes.I bought a 6" and 12" from Cripe after Armstrong closed; these are likely made by Crescent.
Both are quite loose and do not maintain adjustment.
-Yes they were. The plant was located in the Jefferson Park neighborhood near the CTA yard (Elston Ave.) close to where I lived. They also made tooling and lathe tool holders (lantern type) for machinists. Now and then there would be a sale of "seconds" at the plant and I'd purchase hand tools with cosmetic "blems" for a fraction of new price.Armstrong at one time was a stand alone company weren't they? I mean before Danaher acquired them.
The later USA made Crescent wrenches were loose as f@ck.My armstrongs wonderful. They allow you to snug them up on the nut and hold.
You know Normie, like the chinese, Crecent can build good a good wrench. As long the buyer specs a good wrench : )
