Did Fisher Body make tools boxes?

I bought this at an estate (auto upholstery shop) sale recently.
I don't know if this is a legit 'Fisher Body' box (for in-house factory use) or if someone just stuck a Fisher tag on a generic box (I don't see any other stamping on it).
Most of the Fisher tags I've seen in my life on vehicles were not easily removed, which makes me think it's the real deal.
Anyone have any ideas?

I am not sure what you have there, interesting though, one possibility might be that the fisher decal was picked up one way on another prior to being installed on a car....

My guess is it belonged to someone who worked at a GM plant someplace. One day he grabbed a Fisher Body tag out of a bin, put it in his pocket and took it home.

Some of the Repop sill plates are sold with the Fisher tags in a separate bag.:headscrat

These do not have rivet holes, and are a decal. Possibly what you have?

Could be someone left them off of the sill plates and decorated their box with 'em?

I have a toolbox that looks eerily similar to that one. It is about 20-25 years old, painted kind of a metallic blue crinkle finish and has a metal nameplate rived to the front that says "Champion USA Model 218".

I'm always amazed at what people pick up on in pictures, it is a spider.
What can I say...I like to live dangerously (or carelessly)!
Thanks for the input guys, there's times I wish they could talk (the box, not the spider).

Focusing on that picture, I realized that someone has replaced one of the rivets holding the handle on...interesting.
Regardless, I thought it was a neat box and was worth saving.
I guess i can always make up my own story on the box's origins...'Rare, limited production, made exclusively for...'

Fisher Body had a large manufacturing plant on the north end of my hometown (at one time, the largest interior facility in North America). Several relatives worked there over the years as it morphed from Fisher Body to GM to Delphi to an empty facility sitting on acres of toxic waste. When it was Fisher Body, they produced seats, headliners, carpet, body panels, etc for GM, but never strayed from the automotive sector.

I'd be curious if you see a name written / etched into the bottom or back of it.
