I have a Blue-Point DOE 5/8x3/4 that was in terrible shape. See the pix. It was so ugly I decided to restore it. Started with an acid dip to get the rust off, the buffed out the faces of the working ends. Hit the raised tradmark very lightly with the buffer. Here are the before and afters:
So, did I enhance its value? Destroy its value? Just waste my time? With all those grind marks I doubt it's worth much anyway. All opinions welcome!
