I think you did well. That one is in awesome shape. I bought my KR 4200 in good, but not great shape like that a few years ago for $100.

What year is yours?

One hundred fifty dollars for something that could last you a lifetime and pass it down to your kid if you keep it in that shape i would say that's a shrewd investment. well done.

Don't know how do I tell? It has the label on the back

Also any suggestions getting the surface rust spots off the chrome handle part?

97:that looks like a great cart for $150 and like mentioned before should last you many many years.

i saw a tip on American Restoration and also read on here that if you dip aluminum foil in water and rub on the chrome it is amazing. i'm saving leftover clean tin foil so i can try it when the time comes.

good luck

Well I have gotten about 95 percent of the rust off. I need a good polish to get the rest off...this is a pretty good cart for the money.

Still haven't found a date stamp...it does have the wrench style keys

0000 steel wool is what I use for the chrome on my harley. Works great at getting the grime off before hitting it with blue magic chrome polish.

I paid about the same for that cart but not in as good of shape as that one. Had it a couple years now, I use it every day.

I have no clue if you got ripped but I've found its often better for your sanity to not question afterwards. Are you happy with the item you purchased? Is it paid and done for? If you can answer both of those then you're good. Move on.

I remember a guy where I used to work had one of those carts. I always wanted one.

I went to hf and for 150 bux I could have had a new roll cart...but I looked at it and picked it up and it was just ****. This cart is solid plus I can't muddy the waters lol

You did great! Cart is solid, and will brighten up well.

To keep your steel wool job from being repetitious, here's a tip.

Steel wool your shiny surfaces, then rub it down with a sock, or clean Terry cloth towel, that has a very light spray of WD 40 on it. Polish, like your rubbing it into the surface.

Abates rust and prolongs the time the surface will stay shiny. An old timer taught me that trick.
