Did I just screw my flooring up?

I changed the oil in my car last night and I cant believe it but I forgot to put the oilpan nut on so when I went to go get a tasty beverage and came back, it had dripped about a foot big oilslick on the floor I cleaned it up but now my beautiful epoxy floor has a yellow tint where the oil was

is there any way to clean this or did the oil bond with the clearcoat?

I've spilled plenty of oil on my epoxy. Try some SimpleGreen or other degreaser cleaner on the spot. It should come right up.

I dont know if its urethane, its just the quikrete clear topcoating.


Ill check on that simplegreen.

It was not a 100% solids, it was a quikrete product line, I used the quikrete clear gloss floor coating for my epoxy, I tried simplegreen and it lightened it slightly but not enough to not notice it.

Castrol Super Clean, straight, with elbow grease. Don't let it pool up on there and sit too long, then you will have "light spots". Powerful stuff.

You might want to try Oxi-Clean. Try this in a sample test area - damp the floor and put a scoop of Oxi-Clean on top and leave it there overnight ( 24hrs) it should pull out the petroleum stain

purple power + stiff bristled broom Mine will stain slightly if it's left on for long periods (some spots have had oil on it for over 6 months around drill press, etc.).
