Saw this as for this box about 2 hours away from, text the guy and he still had it after 2 days. I couldn't make it out till Saturday, but this guy wanted this box gone. So I told him I'll pay him extra $$ to deliver it, so here we are hours later and $1300 less. It's a KRL1001 from 1996, Now on to my favorite part cleaning and getting it looking great again.

It's pretty crazy big compared to my little KR box!

I'd say it's not too bad of a deal considering he delivered it. Just wait, now you'll magically find an even better deal

Nice score. I have a krl661 that I bought new in 96 and it's a tank. That box will give you a lifetime without failure.

you're going to love your new box, and once you reorganize everything you'll find that you like your smaller boxes more than ever.

If that was around me in Canada that would be 2000-3500 bucks. Id call it a good deal. Enjoy your new box

I have a list of parts to order from snap on and liners will ****. It's has ball bearings, I really wanted a kr1000 but I love the top drawer too much to give it up. It will take years to fill it since this is a home box.

Around here that's a pretty good price but I wouldn't get hung up on the deal. I've seen them for sale between $1500 - 2500. It'll do anything a brand new 1022 would besides the second long drawer. I have a buddy with one of them & as the saying goes they don't make em like that anymore.

54-1/4 wide. Not bad at all. I think the 1001 is a bit more functional having the full width drawer.

I just sold mine last Saturday for $1900, mine was clean and had the stainless Marguards so you did alright. Lots of space because the box is so deep. I moved the two wider drawers on the right bank up and used those for wrenches I thought it was more of a practical layout, one for metric and one for standard the top drawer was all sockets. Enjoy.

You did great!!

I disagree. Home tool storage requires about 10X the capacity of the boxes techs use. Techs usually only have to focus on one trade.

A DIY homeowner has to cover about every trade imaginable.

That box will be full before you realize it. Make sure you hang onto your other boxes because you "will" need them for overflow. It's just a matter of time. Mark my words!!!

Update, spent the weekend cleaning, detailing and lubing the box. Heres a few pics I took duting the process, I was definitely the first one to have this thing apart in a number of years. Heres a pic of all the tools im keeping from the box, not too bad

And heres a pic of all the other tools that wont be saved

Heres it with all the drawers out, note all the **** in the bottom. Most stuff ive seen at the bottom of a toolbox in awhile.

All the slides out

After degreaser and good wash

A before and after comparing the slides before soaking in diesel for a bit. This were some of the nastiest and stuck slides ive seen in awhile. After cleaned I lube them with lithium grease

Nd how it finally sits, ut my kra59 on top to make more room on the kr box to work on.

Ill have to post some drawer pics when I remember still pretty empty, but lots of room to grow.

Did you go look at it before he delivered it to you? He must have really wanted it gone if he was willing to load it up and drive to you sight unseen!

I have a pickup and occasionally will throw out with a reasonable offer I can deliver. Some people have expected me to bring it to them to decide if they wanted it or not. I tell them , come look at it, let's settle up and then I will load it up.

nice looking box, btw!!

I pretty much bought it sight unseen. I figured worst case of I really hated it is put it back on Craigslist.
