Hi guys,

After my first year (out of two) completed in Heavy Equipment Mecanics class, I got a job (apprentice, for the summer) at a Terex dealership.

I had a decent set of tools to start but I needed a die grinder, so I made my first purchase from our Snap On dealer on it's weekly stop, got me an AT105, paid in cash... from my first pay... I hope it's not addictive...

Don't worry, it will be. It a nice disease to have.

Congrats on the job. Probably learn more in a shop than in a class room.

Well, after a month... I confirm that it's addictive... At each visit of the SO man I purchased some tools (Hey, I really needed them, I swore)...

New allen keys sets in Metric and SAE (mine did not have ball ends...).
A feeler gauge kit (my old one was too rusted...).
A Crowfoot Open End set (211FCOA).

I can quit anytime if I want...

My best advice is to develop a good relationship with your snap on guy. Don't pay full price for anything. KNOW the retail prices before you get on the truck. Only buy what you need. Buy some from him and some on Ebay, craigslist, etc.. I buy most of my stuff on Ebay. I surf Ebay every night. There are some really good deals to be had.

Snap On tools are VERY addictive.

I already posted pictures of my toolbox (before I started working, just after the end of classes) in the "Show your toolbox" thread.

I'll try to take some picture at work (got to check with my boss if it's OK) and post them later.

Please explain getting priced 260 dollars about list price? Did the dealer overcharge you? and for what? If he did I'd tell him about it, if he acknowledges it and make a correction then your good. But if he doesn't, get a hold of his district manager and start a major campaign against him. Let everyone in his life know what a piece of sh*t he is.

It may just be a mistake while he was looking up part numbers in his price book.
