I remember 2 threads in 1/08 showing the price increase.
I was following prices on the FKF80 around april to june (after the increase should have gone into effect), and I believe it was 77.50.

I checked the price again today, and it went up to 81.50.

What's weird is that on the main page, it's listed at 77.75, but when you click on the actual item, it shows 81.50.

It's not that the prices have increased, it's that the value of the dollar has dropped. I don't blame Snap On; I blame our elected politicians.

So here's a question. Did the cost of steal only go up for snap-on? It seems that no one else has raised their prices. Craftsman, Mac , Matco. I don't understand.

I think it's tied in to the price of gas. Everything is going up not just tools. Matco raised their prices recently and there were numerous posts here about Matco being more expensive than Snap on. There have been some price increases on Mac stuff but, I thought that was because the price of imported stuff went up due to the week dollar :bounce:. If Sears raised their prices, I didn't notice it because their recent sales were pretty good.
Hang on tight because, the roller coaster is only starting. You can blame politicians, you can blame the people that voted for them, or the ones who didn't care enough to vote, or how alot of people are living beyond their means, globalization, whetever the reason or excuse. The bottom line is that it isn't going to get better anytime soon.
