I’ve been looking on eBay for a month now trying to find the big set and can’t. I buy from a SO truck for personal use and he says they did but he can’t find one. Keeps trying to sell me the soft grip set that I don’t want lol. Starting to think it doesn’t exist.

I’m in the same boat. Not a fan of the instinct handles though may give them another try eventually. I can’t find one either. I’ve seen old Mac sets but no Snap-on sets of the large radiator picks. I know they made regular picks in hard handle because I have one.

Edit: eBay search shows some pretty old ones with the old style more round hard handle that were only available in black. However it’s not a set only an individual.

That’s what I keep coming up with. One or two not a complete set. I maybe have to learn to love the new handle.

If you prefer the older soft handles that are all black with red Snap-on lettering and red rings at the handle ends, Snap-on made a 6pc radiator pick set in that style. Part number SGRHT6. It included picks SGA173, SGA174, SGA175, SGA1710, SGA1711, and SGA1712.

I don't recall ever seeing a 6pc radiator pick set before the soft grip handles came out. The only two radiator pics I know of with the larger 4 sided black handled picks are part numbers A173A and A1710. They came individually or as a two piece set. Here is a current Ebay listing I found for that set.

It looks like the part numbers of the older hard handle sets are almost the same as the current soft grip picks without the "SG" at the beginning, so you might be able to change the more modern part numbers to find other individual hard handle picks if there are any.

If anyone on GJ happens to have a downloaded pdf Snap-on tool catalog (from the early 1990s?), that should show if there ever was a 6pc hard handle set or what any other radiator hard handle hose pick part numbers might be if there are any.

To my knowledge and experience, Snap on didn't make a six piece hard handle hose pick set back in the day. They offered a two piece set with a long and short version but, that was it. I guess things were simpler back in the day. The six piece hose pick set showed up in the early 2000s with hex shaped black & red soft grip handles. For a time before the introduction of the worst snap on handle ever, the instinct, Snap on sold replacement hose pick blades and replacement hard screwdriver handles. You can tell these because, they don't have part numbers on the handle, just the snap on logo.

All of the new pick shafts are replaceable. If you have a dealer, you can buy the hard handles and the shafts to make it yourself.

Wish they would make these, I dislike the comfort grip and will not purchase them. The hard handles clean up so much easier. If you are buying new, order the hard handles and tips. I did this 11 years ago for a red screwdriver set as a present.
Need to find a dealer that would be more inclined to get creative. Used to have a dealer that would make this sorta stuff happen, but he is gone. Does Snap-On have a suggestion box?

^ like Fedwrench and this fella said, back when the black hard handle sets were popular, they were only 2 pieces. A kind of short one, and a long one. That maybe be all you will find in the wild.

Engine bays were less cramped back then I guess, you only needed one for the top hoses and one for the lowers
