I bought a Kobalt Mini Air Die Grinder today, I noticed it had a screw on the side. I think it is some sort of valve. Could somebody tell me what it is and what it does. I turned it a little bit while I had it hooked up to the compressor to see if it maybe changed the speed, but I didn't notice anything.

It control how much spring pressure is acting on the air valve inside. It does not control speed.

My Kobalt cutoff tool has one too but I haven't screwed with it. I imagine it's a flow control to compensate for irregularities in the castings and to make sure the tool doesn't spin too fast and blow your wheel up.

I'll check out my blow-up diagram but I just assumed it was a lawyer's feature.
