Dietzgen transit - more info please

Morning, so I came across this old transit a little while back and want to know if any of the GJ experts could provide any info on it. I do not know much about transits, but this one looked old so I snatched it up.

It is a Dietzgen 25755. Any info is great appreciated.

EDIT:
Any thoughts on what it might be worth? I want to sell it and would like to know what is a fair price for something like this. I am tired of it holding down a shelf in my garage and want it gone.

Additionally, best I can can tell, it appears that I may have been made in 1938.

That looks like a builder's level not a transit. Basically it lets you level a footing/road by using that telescope to shoot a level line around the building. You can use a measuring rod or even a long stick and mark where you see the lines match up and then use that mark to set other points in the footing for instance. This is a two man job, one on stick, one on level. Transits usually are able to do angle up or down not just level. Also that can be set in a corner and do a 90 degree corner using the scale ring on the level.

Anybody have an idea of what I could sell it for? Not wanting to make a mint, just a fair price to get it out of my way.

That is a Wye level, they sell for around 100.00 on ebay.

Does Wye stand for or an acronym for something? Sorry, I do not know anything about these.
