Diff. between "premium industrial" & "corrosion resistant" receptacles

I was browsing through McMaster-Carr. I've gotten many of these in the past:

I suppose these gradings of "prem. industrial" and "corr. resistant" are McMaster's own gradings (though they reference various org's specs), but I would've thought that prem. industrial by its nature is corrosion resistant. Maybe the corrosion resistant outlets don't contain all the tough components of the premium industrial? Why the price difference? Anyone have experience with these two? I know the prem. industrial are Hubble, but I don't know who makes the other.

Here are the descriptions of each:

Premium Industrial
Just as reliable as industrial-grade devices but with extras such as a ribbed nylon housing. Designed for the toughest applications and recognized by the most discriminating users.

Corrosion-Resistant
Impact- and chemical-resistant nylon housing surrounding nickel-plasted brass blades and copper alloy contacts make these devices defy corrosion.

For this particular application, I need something that's really tough, like the Hubble, but if it doesn't have the properties of the corrosion resistance, I may want to reconsider, because these benefits would be useful for the particular location I'm putting these.

I have to ask. What are you possibly doing in your garage that would require an $18 receptical? I have a dozen of the $1.09 ones from home depot all over my shop and have yet to wear one out. What makes a $18 receptical 18x better than a $1 one?

I'll agree with kmacht, why the ultra expensive special purpose outlets? The standard one from any common supplier (HD, or the local hardware store) should work just fine.

the 'premium industrial' is probably a 5262 industrial grade device. the corrosion resistant device is going to be the same thing, except all the contacts are nickel plated and the strap and rivets are stainless or something. used on boat docks and industrial facilities where corrosion is a real problem. if its not in a highly corrosive environment there is no advantage to using it (unless you want yellow)

I use the cheap ones for most stuff, even on my work benches where some see thousands of cycles a year, cant remember last time I had a problem with one. I might score a box of commercial back wired ones for a couple places where box space is congested, kind of handy.

Thanks. I don't think the environment is "highly corrosive" but this good to know. Always like to hear about stuff like this, even if I decide I don't need it.
