Well , after considering every flooring option out there , I choose carpets tiles .
For many reasons.
* easy to install
* cost per square ft
* ease of replacement
* ease of cleaning
* comfort level
* Recyled Materials. Shredded plastic bottles .
* Color selection

This stuff is rated commercial , indoor— outdoor. 18” sq tiles. Self adhesive . Took me 2 days to install. Cleaned with a Vacume , can be shampooed, mostly non staining . Cleans up with most spray cleaners, I do not have to sweep,mop,wax,scrub,remove for dirt ,it softens the noise , little parts do not bounce if they hit the floor, It fit every need I had and more. Bad tile pull up and replace 5 min’s
I use my garage for a multi purpose room and still park my classic in there year around.
It’s been in a there a year now and I am very satisfied .

And yes I work on my projects in there, I put down some protective plastic and go to work. By the way , the few oil drips from my vehicles clean up easy . Remember this tile is made from plastic bottles.

Now that's the coolest garage I've ever seen. Ever. Wife and I created a 'drive-in' movie setup in the 3rd bay of our 3 car, but it isn't anywhere near as cool. Not even close. Thanks for posting!

Looks nice.
Is that your shop?
It was a regular garage and I turned it into a gathering place for friends and get togethers. I still park the two classics in there and I do work on them in the winter. Recently replaced front bearings on the Mustang and shocks on the truck .
We built another regular garage for everything else.

Do you have pic’s of your project ?
It's just an old 42" flat screen hung from the front wall at a height that's right for viewing while sitting in a vehicle (I did this some years ago when we had '67 Buick 2dr Skylark/Special). Has a VCR, DVD, and an over-the-air antenna (we sold the Buick early this yr). The not-so-great TV sound quality is reminiscent of the sound found at most Drive-Ins back in the day. Had fun watching American Graffiti, Jaws, Vanishing Point ('71), On Any Sunday, Dirty Harry, White Line Fever, and other '70s movies. Pinned several small '70s movie posters here and there for the heck of it.

Edit: the center of the screen is 55 inches above the floor.

Hey mygarageone, that's a sharp looking C10 you have there! Wife had a '72 1/2 T long bed with the original 402 big block and the big auto transmission from ~ '02 thru '09 or 10. It was almost a daily driver for her, besides her '92 Pathfinder. That thing was heavy, but it honked when you put your foot into it. She had a lot of fun blasting past other, lessor powered, vehicles when they asked for it.

Thank you but it’s a K15 the whole drive train has been replaced, 350. Engine, 700R trans, new driveshaft. I did however leave the front pumpkin in.
I don’t get on it too much, scares me! Too much power. I put the auto trans in because my wife could never have pushed the 11 1/2” clutch in. And I also wanted over drive.

I somehow failed to notice that it's a 4 by. A PO replaced my wife's '72 auto with a 700R. It was OEM stock/original beyond that except for an electric fuel pump. I didn't drive it much, but I took it out on Interstate 5 on a slow traffic day. Speedo didn't reg above 90 mph IIRC. Easily pegged it with lots of throttle left. Thing just kept pulling like freight train until I decided to call it a day. Had to have been doing at least a buck twenty five (with some throttle left). A lot of guys asked my wife about the truck and if she wanted to sell it. She pretty much ignored them. Gave it to our son in 09 or 10.

I'm also a fan of commercial carpet but I do machining in my garage so it would just get infested with metal chips.
I do a lot of welding, painting and woodworking. Plus we have winter and lots of snow and mud drags in. I can not even imagine dealing with the various plastic floor tiles! I half filled a 30 gallon garbage can from saw dust, dirt and welding splatter from the work I did in the shop in the last couple weeks!

Not to bust the chops of the OP, but how much serious automotive work goes on it there? Looks to me it is a family room that he parks his car in. Don't get me wrong, it is a neat room, but I don't see anyone pulling an engine and doing a rebuild in there.

When I was in high school a friend's dad had a couple classic cars and a nice garage to keep them in. He had another shop building where the serious work got done.
