Curious, anybody know what the difference is between the GearWrench double box sets that are more and less expensive? Cheap set (orange package) is $50, expensive set (black package) is $65...

One is packaged for the bog box stores and one is packaged for the industrial suppliers????

They're both for sale at Sears.com...

And a similar difference in price is also seen in the metrics, orange vs grey boxes:

I don't see any mention of reversing vs. non-reversing...

If you check the manufacturer model #, the non-orange boxed sets correspond with actual KD Tools numbers (replace EHT with KDT and then search for that model).

The models starting with 44 do not. My theory on that is that they are specially made for Sears only. Example: the 56 pc ratcheting screwdriver set........doesnt exist on Gearwrenches website, and the model # starts with a 44 on the sears.com site. The 40 piece ratcheting screwdriver set on Sears.com starts with EHT, and that set DOES exist on the GearWrench website.

I think its just a "sears only" thing, possibly to prevent price matching.

The way I look at it just buy the one with the orange packaging at your local sears store and save $20 even at regular price.

On the reversible models. The ones that Sears always puts on sale cheap have that capstop feature that prevents you from using the wrench reversed. Whereas, the ones without the capstop rarely go on sale.
