Differences between two 3.5 Ton Napa jacks?

Can anybody shed any light on the differences between these two 3.5T Napa jacks?

Im trying to buy a new jack and have narrowed it down to these 2 Napa offerings based on cost (ive checked pricing on the other brands like Compac, too much $ here) and local availability. Other than height (lo pro is not important to me) is there any difference is quality? There is a major difference in retail cost.

The jacks Im deciding between are the NLE 791-6420. Regular retail is $350, on sale for $295. So $55 off retail.

The other one is the 791-6440. Regular retail $500, Sale flyer $471, My Napa guy can sell it to me for $350. So $150 off retail.

Considering the higher retail price of the 6440, is it a better "deal" at $350 than the old school 6420 is at $295??? I think there is a different manufacturer for each jack but havent been able to find much on the newer 6440 design. A more discounted price isnt a deal if the 6440 is overpriced for what its quality is.

I noticed that the old 6420 is about 10lbs heavier than the 6440, does that mean more steel? More strength?

Any advise on choosing between these two particular jacks would be appreciated.

I'd go for the low-profile one...you can get under lower-profile cars.

i have both , i just got the low pro version since my cadillac is very low with carbon fiber sides, Works great so far but has little use. The older one has served me well for a long time. They had the new low pro at my napa for 250 so i grabbed it.

I like the older one for one thing , you can remove the jack pad and i like that because i can make an extension for use on my lifted truck.

Not being able to remove the jack pad is a big deal for me, I got a jack extension too that I use all the time. I like to get the vehicle as high as possible when doing anything major underneath.


Funny why they are selling the LoPro at such a premium here, $500+ at full retail is a bit nuts for a chinese jack

3.5 workhorse is a brute of a jack I have one and I have the other at my store on display go with the heavier one it's the better buy hands down

The recent flyer that I looked in had the 6420 Jack for 199$ on sale. The one I looked at in person seems really nice, and the weight is about 20 pounds more than most others. To me it's a no brainier if you don't need the low clearance. Even if you did, a couple of 2" x10" wood ramps would take care of that.

that gets old fast . I was changing wheels alot and didnt want to do that all the time.

Today im putting in my xpr-10a-lp so now my problem will be gone !!!!!

Went with the 6420. Should be in tomorrow I hope.

Didnt need the Lopro and my Napa guy cut me a deal on the 6420. Being an Old School design I hope that means that parts should be available for a long time (if needed).

Side by side with my old jack. A considerable difference in size. New one is much beefier, plus it rolls a heck of a lot nicer too.
