Different design 3-rd hand soldering holder "Pro's Kit"

Just got back from Taiwan and found this gem at an electronics supply store.
I've always hated this POS version.

So when I saw this much simpler Pro's Kit I had to buy it. All i'm trying to do is solder 2 gosh darn wires together I don't need the clips to have a double pivot joint.

I like the one that Eric O on the south main auto youtube channel uses, it is 2 clips fixed to a magnetic base.

In fact I think I will pick up some clips and make one.

He uses it in this video.
