Got a quick question for any airplane mechanics out there.
Me and my brother borrowed a differential compression tester to use on an engine after we cleaned up the valves and got them seating good. We wanted to use it to test if the rings were bad without putting everything back together. The adaptor that screwed into the cylinder head via the spark plug had to different diameters threads on it so you can do multiple sizes of holes. We needed the bigger size and it was only about an ⅛" of thread. Well long story short we ended up stripping the threads.
And so my question is were can we find a similar adaptor to replace that one? It has to have a schrader valve in it and have two sizes of threads. Thanks.

And on which aircraft engine were you working?

Is this differential compression tester what some of us would know as a leak-down tester?

Check Aircraft Spruce? You are looking for a differential pressure compression tester 'extension', I believe.
Looks like -

?

Haven't worked GA in about forever.

actually, the engine was a ford 200 straight 6. My grandfather is a pilot and flies a single engine luscombe and does all the maintenance that he can on it so he had the tool. He said it would work the same as with an aircraft engine. As to how we read the results we put in 80 psi and we were looking for a consistent pressure over fifty on all six cylinders.
As for the pic, what cross threaded though did not have extension part, it was just the adapter. The big question though is do all the adaptor and extensions have the Schrader valve in them. If so the we should be golden but if not... I'll try to post a pic sometime.
