Digital Torque Wrench Adapter vs Torque Wrench

Guys, I have both - recently bought an ACDelco adapter.
I am wondering what are the "Real" differences if any - or if it is just a packaging versatility factor when owning the adapter.

I am asking since I noticed that ACDelco also makes digital torque wrenches.

Thanks

I have two smaller torque wrenches -- one 1/4" inch-pound for the low torques, one 3/8" foot-pound for the 20-100 range, and then the ACDelco adapter for 1/2" stuff. The ACDelco is cumbersome but you're not usually using it on tight stuff in the engine bay; more like lug nuts and suspension bolts where there is more clearance. I like the beep and the price and the quality seems good.

AVE (love him or hate him) did a really good teardown of a digital adapter explaining in-depth how it works:

So it sounds like they are the same thing just different packaging then.
Thank you

I have 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" torque wrenches and a 1/2" digital torque adapter. The adapter comes with a block that clamps in a vise and allows it to be used to verify/calibrate torque wrenches. I use it regularly to check all of mine.

I have the 1/2 one as well and use it solely to calibrate torque wrenches. I had another one that I eventually sent back to amazon because it ate batteries. Before I did, I used it to compare torque values against the one I kept - they were dead on one another. Interesting thing was it seemed to be very accurate even at very low torque values, well below what they advertise as a lower limit.
