Dill Big Bore valve tools

Found a partial set of schrader valve tools by a company called Dill. Looked them up on-line - they are still in business. Some of the tools I recognize, others are kinda strange. I guess they are called "Big Bore" tools for bigger tires than standard cars.
Oh well, I can always repurpose the handles and the knurled center sections (those are a very aggressive grip).

Dill used to be a big maker of tire valves. Tire shop I worked in a long time ago bought replacement caps from them. the valves we installed were from someone else; probably cheaper.

Some nutty collectors make an effort to find the cap that's correct for their car, which were not always just black or chrome.

I think the valves are all imported these days, though, they had a couple big recalls a few years ago, and they were all chinese.

Dill is still big in some markets. The 8 piece kit for large bore is around $170 on sky geek.com

Maybe I should call around to some HE places in town and see if any mechanics can use an NOS set for less?

I have some large bore tools. We called them Giant Tire tools. We used them on large front end loaders (Cat 950, 966, and 980) and "baby" haul trucks - Cat 769's.

When you have to fill an empty tire that is 6 feet tall, you appreciate the larger bore of the big stems!

Farm tractors with inner tubes still have the large valves to fill them with fluid for ballast. The Dill tools are common with heavy tire techs. I have the deep driver to install the plastic retainer rings and have used it repairing tractor tires.

I have this same Dill Large Bore Tool Kit, complete set.
The kit I have, there are a total of 8 tools used in the kit.

Great video. I watched the whole thing. I would love to be able to find some Belzer stuff around here. Some of that era vintage stuff reminds me of vintage Snap On with the lines. You can just tell they are quality too, as most German hand tools seem to be. I'm glad he flipped that gear around...

The kit has since changed and apparently is still available from a few sites....some complete, others with fewer tools.
