I want to put a dimmer switch on a ceiling fan light. It has 4 led bulbs in it
The light is controlled by 3 separate switches. https://www.buildmyowncabin.com/electrical/how-to-wire-4-way-switch.gif
Found this [emoji115]
I’m assuming this is how my circuit is wired
(Haven’t checked yet). 2 3-ways and 1 4 way. So is it possible to use a dimmer switch in a circuit like I have. If so which switch would I be replacing
Thanks for any suggestions MIke

can you put a dimmer switch on your ceiling fan light ? My ceiling fan light is controlled through a circuit board and a remote along with the reverse/forward and fan speeds.... on/off I have no control of dimming it. It goes through the circuit board and it's relay.

"If" your Ceiling Fan Light is capable of dimmer switches.
Costco have the FEIT brand wifi switch that is capable of 3 way dimmer smart switch..
Amazon also have a lot of them as well

Maybe search for 4 way smart Dimmer switch ?

Yes... Dependents on what your Ceiling Fan Light... are they build in LEDs? or was it an E26-E27 LED Bulb... or something else LED... information is ambiguous with just mention of LED probably won't help..

If it is a bulb then you can just buy one that is Dimmer compatible. it's not as much dimming range as the old incandescent bulbs...

and again... you have to look at your Ceiling Fan light.. if light is wired directly to the switch or if it is going through some sort of remote controller boards in the fan sharing the fan with the light... .

Your other option: they do sell wifi bulbs that is dimable and color changeable as well...

It’s just a screw in eco smart bulb from hd or Lowe’s lights and fan are on separate circuits controlled by separate wall switches. I put the fan in about 12 years ago (hunter).

It sounds like the light and fan are switched separately since the light is on a 4-way circuit

If the light is just controlled by the 3 switches, not the fan, then you can add a dimmer. You will have to get LED lamps that are dimmable. You have a few options. The lutron toggler style dimmers are single pole or 3-way, so it has to be installed where one of the 3-ways are, and you can only dim it from that location. The Diva works the same as the Toggler, just its the paddle style. They also make the Maestro style where to can dim it from all locations, You would have to buy a master and 2 companions. They cost more and wire different from standard 3-ways. But you use the same wiring in the walls, just have to change the splices in the switch boxes.

So the toggle and paddle only have 2 dim positions. Do they make a variable style dimmer

I was hoping just changing one of the 3 ways out was all I would have to do other than changing bulbs

Went to hd sight. It has a little slide. Now all I need is a faceplate that accommodates the diva and a regular toggle switch. Thanks for the help guys

If the rest of your switches are toggle style, I would get the Lutron Toggler so they all match. The Toggler has full range dimming, not just 2 selections. If you LEDs are dimmable you are ok. If the dont say it on the lamp, try googling the number on the lamp

I have to get new lamps. I found some with equivalent lumens as what I have. Will the toggle style dimmer switch fit in a 2 gang box with another toggle

Yea, I couldn't tell.. but OP clarify :)

I have a few FEIT wifi 3 way switches from Costco $29.99 pack of 2... ... but they are 3 way. and not sure how good they are.... price are decent. app is good, but it has it's quarks and kinks.
It was supposedly able to do 4 way or Nth way switching. but never tried.
