Just a quick update. We are having machine problems. The Texas weather has been cold, then up to 70 degrees. The humidity yesterday was very high. All these sudden changes have caused the machine to "freak out".
All the other work has been done, programs written, tools installed and setup so it shouldn't be long. I'll keep everyone posted.
Sorry for the delay

See post #54. Having machine problems.
As a last resort I'll turn some on my manual lathe.

If ChandlerW can't come thru for you guys.( I,m not saying that he won't...)
My machine can make oodles of those in a day once set up.

Shipping and payment would be my only concern.

I'd rather make kits with the GJ logo engraved in them and have you buy them from Ryan.:)

There could be kits made of plastic,Alu.cold rolled steel, tempered steel you can have them anodized, chrome plated...personalized
We could start a GJ custom fabricating tool line..

The awesomeness of this site is unbelieveable. Somebody needs something, guys arewilling to make them and sell at a fair price. When that guy is having problems, another member steps up and offers his trade.

NUTTSGT Thats called capitalism in a free market economy. I'm sure 99% of us on here are huge fans of that concept.

ChandlerW. I'm sorry I thought you had a prototype for pics. I'm down for a set. I sold my set to a buddy awhile ago. I made them while I was unemployed and had more time than money, on my manual lathe it took forever. If these look good, I'm getting another set. Keith

We must all be the 1% on here because the "occupiers" who supposedly represent the 99% are definitely promoting Socialism

Sorry for my OT political sidetrack, I don't want to divert this away from Chandler's dimple dies. I want a set when he gets his machine sorted out.

What's the status on the dimple dies for H F punches these are conduit sizes for electrical work. I'd buy a set now or whenever you get them ready.

Well fellas, I hate to bring bad news but it looks like that lathe won't be making any dimple dies in the near future. If it ever gets straightened out I'll come back to the thread. Sorry about that.

Sorry for the off topic question but Jim, do you have any updates on your MGB project? I checked the links and nothing for quite some time.

Sorry to hear of your troubles Chandlerw, that *****. I've had my lathe all over the shop floor before and two weeks later the Fanuc guys spent three day$ here, trying to fix a never encountered by them before problem......
I know my way around cnc a little, if I can help out let me know.
A great source of info and resaurces is cnczone.com

As far as making dimple dies, that's strait forward and turning out a few dozen sets would be economicly sensible.

Here are my concerns.

I don't want to piss of Ryan or anyone else for that matter.

I run a business and am not retired yet.So all of this needs to be legit.

I know how to ship and what taxes to charge in Canada. But havn't a clue as to how to proceed with sales to the U.S. of A

I just had a discussion with the accounting department about this............. and if I'm going to do this, you guys are gonna have to help me out a little.
She wants none of the crossborder ******** filling out customs papers bla bla....and so on..........
So, does anyone have any experiance with this??
I buy stuff from the States now and then ,but never the other way yet.

I work in my backyard,I don't have paypal,debit,or a credit card machine.
No one will send cash:lol: So that leaves cheques......
I'm honest, are you?:dunno:

What if people committed to buying sets, then you send that many sets to one address in the US. That guy could distribute for you.

It would cost slightly more, as shipping would happen twice, and the distributor would need a little something for their time. If the set could fit into a flat rate box (USPS has several sizes) it would keep shipping costs low for US -> US shipments.

Let you run machines, and somebody else handle the shipping & payments.
